The Bruceband is known as Europe's no 1 Bruce Springsteen tributeband. The band started about five years ago and consists of seven well experienced musicians. Having done an impressive number of gigs in- en outside the country the Bruceband is an appreciated guest on festivals and various other stages. Visiting a Bruceband gig you really get what you expect: close your eyes and you'll experience the sound and the atmosphere of a real Bruce Springsteen & the E-Street band concert. It's a big party on- and around the stage that  nevertheless also has its touching moments. Besides the famous Springsteen hits the band also plays less well known songs of the American singer/songwriter. This stands for a lot of variety during the show. In the past the band has performed with Vinnie Lopez and Steel Mill (former Springsteen band) and recently spend studio time with Jake Clemons (nephew of Clarence "Big Man" Clemons) who occasionly plays with Bruce and the E-streetband.

Throughout the years Springsteen has written a tremendous number of songs. The Bruceband nowadays has gathered up to 6 hours of Springsteen songs in its repertoire guaranteeing that no performance will be the same! 

Although the Bruceband is not meant to be a Springsteen imitation, one can't deny that the looks as well as the voice of Robert "the Boss" Philippi come very close to that of Springsteen. The drums are played by Michael "Mighty Mike" van Werven and the bass guitar by Richard "Terror" Oude Vrielink, together they stand for the solid base of the music. The subtle organ parts and the characteristic piano sounds are produced by "Brother" Ruud van der Schaaf and Frederik "the Vet" Hamsterman, while guitar man Chris "the Bold" Lelieveld continuously shows his incredible ability to enjoy the audience with "musical presence" of both Little Steven and Nils Lofgren.  Multi-instrumentalist "dr K" is screaming on the saxophone like Clarence Clemons does and even then he finds time to play the acoustic guitar, mandolin and percussion. 

Just like  Bruce Springsteen & The E-street band the Bruceband is a real live-band that you "should have seen before you die". In 2008 the Bruceband recorded a unique project: Electric Nebraska.  On the original solo album Nebraska Bruce Springsteen solely plays the acoustic guitar. For Electric Nebraska the Bruceband has created arrangements for all tittles in full band format resulting in some surprising refreshments of these magnificent songs.
